She has also been in charge of selecting the pieces to be sent to the annual prizes granted by NAHP – National Association of Hispanic Journalist –, where the paper has consistently won a good number of awards. Donado worked with production and graphic design firms to develop plans for new designs of the paper, supervising the change from the old computer system to a new platform, Good News -GN3- including the training and daily operations of the newsroom staff. She also participated in strategic groups to develop the new website of El Diario/La Prensa Newspaper.

In times of crisis, like the events of September 11, 2001 and the North East regional black out, Donado showed a lot of control over the tragedy and strong professional skills in order to manage a newsroom closed due to the circumstances. She led a team who worked outside of the newsroom to prepare and complete the edition.
